Week 4 day 1 02/10/23

What informed your choice of cards:

today I chose my cards Robust, calm, overt, covert because I like how they all have contradictions within the spectrum of introverted and extroverted an this resonated with me because I believe it is a very accurate description of how I am as a person. I also picked specifically the crds that had mushrooms and a humming bird because I feel like they are such quiet species that move and grow whilst also being under the radar.

How did you chose your materials in relation to each card? or were you drawn to materials for other reasons? If so, what reasons:

firstly I made use of play dough as the centre piece of my sculpture becauseI was able to create visibly accurate fungi from it and I also really enjoyed moulding and manipulating it.

Secondly I found a wheel that was placed to spin between two wedges of wood and I saw a vision of Reworking it so that it looks like something complete different.

How did you find experimenting with three dimensional techniques without planning and designing in detail beforehand:

I first I found this to be quite a challenge because I am not used to this form of art and working under such tight conditions but as I went on and developed my idea it became almost natural to me as I was able to experiment and also through trial error and gathering inspiration from the people around me I was enabled to create something which I believe to be very unique.

What have you learned today through chance, by accident ? :

today I learned how to attach things by using different bonding materials like a staple gun or hammer instead of always using glue.

Did you push yourself and take risks?:

One risk I would say I took today was reworking the contraption (wheel) the I found in the scraps outside. I would say this was a challenge because working with an already worked item is not easy because it has someone else's vision but I was able to completely transform it into my vision.

Do you need to Bring specific materials for tomorrow? :

Tomorrow I will bring in my paints to because I feel like a key thing that is missing in my piece Is a range of different colours.

Confirm copying
